Essay

The dissertation is devoted to research of the thermal conductivity of crystalline clathrate hydrates of xenon and tetrahydrofuran and influence of admixtures on the thermal conductivity of clathrate hydrates at low temperatures. It has been found that the temperature dependence of thermal conductivity for crystalline hydrates is typical for amorphous solids. An anomaly in the thermal conductivity behavior of the xenon clathrate hydrate has been revealed and explained by the mechanism of resonance phonon scattering. Influence of a potassium hydroxide admixture on the thermal conductivity of tetrahydrofuran clathrate hydrate is investigated. It has been established that the negligible quantity of alkali assists to phase transformation in a crystalline lattice of the clathrate hydrate.
