Research object: functioning of the regional banking system. Research purpose: generalization of theoretical positions, ground and development of practical measures on the increase of efficiency of functioning of the regional banking system. Research methods: dialectical, rating, approach of the systems; logic, dynamic and statistical, komparativnе and graphic analysis; scientific generalization and classification. Theoretical results consist in deepening, subsequent development and improvement of scientific theoretical positions on the increase of efficiency of functioning of the regional banking system. The practical value of the executed research consists in development of scientific and practical, methodical positions and recommendations, suitable for the practical use of executive power regional organs. The got results are inculcated in practice: By main administration of economy of Lugansk regional state administration; Private joint company "Bank the East"; Private joint company the "East industrial commercial bank"; in the educational process of the East Ukrainian national university of the name of Vladimir Dalya there are Departments of education and science, young people and sport of Ukraine. Scientific novelty: understanding of the regional banking system and systematization of tool of estimation of efficiency of functioning of the regional banking system is specified; existent experience of territorial organization of the bankings systems of the world countries is generalized. The dynamics of development of the banking system of Ukraine and its regions, and also result of functioning of the regional banking system, is analysed. The order of calculation of integral index of estimation of efficiency of functioning of the banking system is developed. The methodical providing of functioning of the regional banking system is formed. The economic ground of efficiency of consolidation of bank institutions of region is executed. Organizational and economic measures are offered on the increase of efficiency of functioning of the regional banking system by the construction of kognitivnе model. The sphere of the use is activity of Main administrations of economy of regional and city state administrations; Main administrations of statistics in areas; organs of local self-government; bank institutions of region; scientific establishments on the type of the advanced study; higher educational establishments.
