Essay

In the thesis physical basis of the travelling wave reactor (TWR) is investigated theoretically. The thesis uncovers the mechanisms of the velocity formation in TWR. The ways are demonstrated to regulate parameters of the stationary wave in TWR choosing the reactor initial composition. The wave velocity and the thermal power can be regulated within a wide range due to tuning of the initial absorber concentration or of the side neutron leakage. Final fluence decreases substantially if fuel is enriched with fissile nuclides.
