Shulyatnikova T. Morphogenesis of destructive and reparative processes in perifocal critical zones of ischemic brain infarction

On the basis of complex neurogistological, computer-morphometric and immunohistochemical studies of sectional (239 death cases from cerebral infarction), and also electron microscopic and ultratcitochemical studies of experimental material (45 Wistar rats after bilateral ligation of the carotid arteries) it was found that around forming infarct focus it is always observed a circulatory disturbance zone with a variety of changes in neurons and glia, the borders of which are available for the morphological identification by specific features identified during the study. It was developed the criteria of histopathological differential diagnosis of progressive and stabilized cerebral infarction. Ultrastructural study of formation cerebral infarction critical zones in the experiment revealed a number of distinctive features of their morphogenesis in the early stages of the disease.
