Margaret Thatcher Conservative government's (1979 - 1990) policy towards Asian and African immigrants from the British Commonwealth of Nations has been examined in this thesis on the basis of government documents from the British National Archives, parliamentary debates, the leading British politicians' memoirs and other sources. The causes for discriminatory stand towards such immigrants of both the political elite and the British society are consistently analyzed.
