Research object: process of diagnostics and providing of smoothing of regional asymmetries of steady development of Ukraine. Purpose: development of theoretic-methodological principles and scientifically the applied positions of diagnostics and mechanisms of diminishing of regional asymmetries of steady development of Ukraine. Methods: logical generalization, synthesis, analysis, comparisons, economicо-statistical, strategic analysis, design, programmatic having a special purpose, graphic, cartographic. Results: the predicative model of regional convergence of steady development is developed; improved: methodical going near diagnostics of regional asymmetries of steady development; semantic determining descriptions of term are «regional asymmetries»; typology of regional asymmetries of country; going near stimulation of development of problem regions; got subsequent development: ground of essence of basic criteria of steady development of regions (reducibility, balanced, different importance, co-ordination is divisibility, openness, dynamic, unconcern); going near the ground of essence, tasks and principles of realization of regional policy of diminishing of regional asymmetries of steady development; research of pre-conditions of origin of regional asymmetries of steady development is in Ukraine; going near the design of prognosis level of regional asymmetries of steady development.
