Essay

The оbject of research: the electromagnetic processes in liquid metal stirrer in the mold of continuous casting machines. The purpose of research: To develop mathematical models and methods of electromagnetic processes, and practical advice on the choice of designs of electromagnetic stirrer liquid metal in the mold of continuous casting machines. Methods of research: to meet the objectives of the analytical methods and numerical modeling of the processes as well as the finite element method. To check the results of theoretical studies of the physical modeling method was used. Theoretical and practical results and innovations: the methods of calculating the new electromagnetic stirrer liquid metal through the stator-winding induction motor and magnetoelectric stirrers on permanent magnets for excitation of the rotating magnetic field in the liquid metal, and developed a set of techniques, algorithms and software for the calculation of electromagnetic fields and electromagnetic magnetoelectric stirrers of liquid metal in the mold of continuous casting machines. A subject degree of introduction: Progress transferred to JSC "Novokramatorsky Engineering Works", which was based on the design documentation for the manufacture of stirrers, and are used in the department № 7 Institute of Electrodynamics of NAS of Ukraine for the study of electromagnetic stirrer. Effectiveness of implantation: reducing power losses 2 - 4 times, improving the quality of the metal. Sphere of use: metallurgy
