Dissertation, based on the basis of studies of wide circle of sources and historiographical researches, examines the process of the formation of medievisticsin Kyiv University of St. Vladymir on the first phases of its existence and describes the process of development of medievistic up to the next periods of university existence till the beginning of ХХ century. Was implemented the analysis of scientific activity of medievists, working in the Kyiv University of St. Vladimir: were characterized the main directions of their studies, their historical views on the vision of basic nature of the problems of medieval history of West Europe.
