Essay

Object: the relationship between Belarusian and Ukrainian social and cultural leaders, scientists, educators, writers. Objective: analysis of the development of Belarusian-Ukrainian cultural relations of the second half of XIX – early XX century. Methods: comparative-historical, structural and systematic, generalization and synthesis of historical events, prosophographic, biographical. Results for the first time comprehensively reviewed and analyzed the Belarusian-Ukrainian cultural, educational and scientific relations in the Russian and Austro-Hungarian monarchy, studied the state of research problems in domestic and Belarusian historiography, based on comparative analysis found the level of cultural interrelations of the two peoples, revealed a number of components of the problem of national revival Belarusians and Ukrainian. Scope: for further comparative study of international contacts in Central and Eastern Europe, in writing generalizing works on the history of Ukraine and Belarus, ethnic relations, reference or encyclopedic articles, for use in the educational process.
