The object of study: the process of socio-economic development of the region. The aim of study: theoretical grounding of ways and methods of improvement of information support of the socio-economic development of the region and the development of practical recommendations for their implementation. Methods of study: method of comparative analysis; statistical and economic analysis; induction and deduction. The practical significance of results lays in the development of recommendations on ways and methods of improvement of information support of the socio-economic development of the region. Scientific novelty of results lies in fact that a comprehensive model of the system of information support of the socio-economic development of the region was masterminded. Were implemented: a proper current model of information support of the socio-economic development of the region in definition of the basic elements; the conceptual frameworks of strategy of information support of investing activities; functions of state management of information resources by means of mass media. Further developments have got: the study of different approaches to classification of information; principles of information policy of the state based on the experience of countries with developed market economy; methodical approach to the analysis of the basic parameters of information transparency of Ukrainian regions; elements and principles of influence onto the information support of the socio-economic development of the region.
