Essay

Target of research: decorative cultivars of genus Picea received by vegetative and seed reproduction methods. Object: working out of modern optimum directions and technologies of planting material production of Picea genus cultivars. Research approach: biometrical, silvicultural, tissue culture, mathematico-statistical, economical. Academic novelty: there has been worked out for for the first time know-how of microclonal propagation of Picea genus cultivars, there has been selected effective culture mediums (RW), types and phytohormones combinations on all stages of cultivation in vitro;there has been specified the influence of type, concentration of sterilants and presentation of adaptation on explants of three cultivars of Picea genus and there also has been worked out an optimum configuration of decontamination that gives possibility of to achieve maximum efficiency of sterilization and life activity of germ-free explants. There has been improved grafting technology of cultivars Picea genus by using combinations of modern promoting rooting agents which assure high quantitative and qualitative indicators of rizogenes and shorten period of rooting grafts. There has been determined peculiarities of seed reproduction of Picea pungens 'Glauca' and there has been defined that particle of generative offspring, that inherits phenotypically main shaped characteristics of cultivar is quite high and is 73,9 %. There has been enriched reproduction experience of decorative cultivars of Picea genus by heterovegetative reproduction. Practical importance: improved by author grafting technology of cultivars Picea genus and recommendations due to using of promoting rooting agents can be applied during production of plantation material of decorative taxons of Picea genus for meeting the requirements in park and garden units. There have been worked out recommendations due to application of grafting at reproduction of weeping and pyramidal growth habits and also shapes that are presented by trees of 1-st and 2-nd size what gives possibility to receive qualitative planting material for economic requirements in short period. There has been worked out and implemented by author into activity of Lviv public utility "Green Lviv" and Lviv park "Znesinnya" practical recommendations due to reproduction and application of decorative taxons of Picea genus. Branch of usage: forest and park and garden units.
