Essay

It is investigated firmness and ecological-biological features of poplars adaptation to influence of heavy metals in the conditions of mining-beneficiation combinates of Krivyi Rih. It is set features of heavy metals translocation in the system "soil - plant". The action of heavy metals compounds induces lipids peroxidation processes and activating of defense mechanisms takes place due to the use of ascorbic acid and glutathione (P. deltoides) or only ascorbic acid (P. italica). The substantial changes of vegetative organs anatomic structure of different at firmness kinds and hybrids show up in forming of hard bast, wood vessels, medullary rays, leaves parenchyma and stomata. At high level of contamination the amount of leaves on one-year shoots of P. deltoides diminishes in 1.4 times, and for kinds with less firmness (P. simonii and P. candicans) - in 1.7 times. The estimation of the poplars state allowed to set that for P. simonii, P. candicans, P. x keliberdinska, P. x tronko and T. x robusta 16 index of damages total mark is more high (0.36-2.53), than for P. italica, P. deltoides, P. x lvivska, P. x sakrau 45/51 and P. x gradizka (0.25-1.3)
