Essay

This thesis is dedicated to development of new filler metal with low melting point (below 900 C) for titanium alloys' brazing, which built on base of new ternary system, as well as studying of structure and properties of brazed joints, which made with this experimental filler alloy. For this purpose the new ternary system Ti-Zr-Co for production experimental brazing filler metal was chosen. As well as the technology of smelting of experimental alloys was developed. Structure of experimental alloys and their melting range were studied, and compositions of alloys with the melting temperature range suitable for brazing were determined Mechanical properties of brazed joins were examined. Found that no influence of type filler metal (cast or amorphous) to properties ant structure of brazed titanium joints. Metallurgical and technological parameters of titanium vacuum brazing by such alloys as Zr-Ti-Co and Ti-Zr-Fe, which provide high operational characteristics were determined. Data on the advantages and disadvantages of aluminum filler for brazing of titanium alloys were obtained. Comparison of modern commercial filler metals with well-known aluminum alloys AD1 and AMg6 were performed. The opportunity of obtaining qualitative brazed joints from titanim alloys was shown.
