Essay

The thesis provides a unique and contextualized history of development of social psychology in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th - at the beginning of the 20th century. Several domains in the social psychology of the discussed period were identified. Social psychological ideas and concepts which evolved within these domains are analyzed based on the intellectual legacy of Ukrainian thinkers (I. Franko, D. Ovsyaniko-Kulikovskyy, O. Potebnya, M. Krayinskyy, L. Vladimirov, M. Grot and others). The author argues that some of these ideas may be significant and relevant for an advancement of modern social psychology.
