A thesis is devoted to the study of biological and ecological characteristics of species of the Sorbus L. genus in the south-east of Ukraine. It is established that rhythms of growth and development of most species are consistent with the weather and climate of the region. The plants are shown a high degree of hardiness and drought resistance.
