Sovakova M. Genus Tilia L. species in different types of plantings in Kyiv (taxonomy, vital state, stress factors reaction).

The thesis is devoted to the complex assessment of genus Tilia species tree health under urban environment impact including a number of field and laboratory studies aimed at determination of peculiarities of linden trees deterioration of functional state, health, weakness, and dying off under conditions of growth. An extensive inventory of different types of city stands in Kyiv was carried out. Use of linden trees in different plant compositions was analyzed; the list of old-aged trees which are not protected by the local government was made; pests and diseases of lindens were specified; potentially resistant plants which could be used for further vegetative propagation were selected; analysis of patterns of T. cordata trees rings (dendrochronology) was carried out, according to the received data significant depression of width of annual growth rings in perpendicular direction from road was determined.
