Essay

The aim of the research is improving the quality and reliability of critical control systems for nuclear power plants through the development of methods for functional testing to diagnose faults, such as "nonoperation" at the time of their occurrence, providing repair of faulty components in real-time. Main results: 1) a new method for providing testability of the protection unit, built by using functional elements based on arithmetic operations, and providing continuous monitoring and diagnosis of the control protection system equipment by passing any change of the input continuous signal is within the resolution of the ADC through the entire circuit: from ADC through the functional elements up to the specific control actuator; 2) a new method for synthesizing typical functional elements of the protection block based on arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for standard functional elements of protection equipment ("and", "or", "2 of 3", "2 of 4", "RS flip-flop"); 3) a new method for monitoring and diagnosing the protection equipment, built by using functional elements based on arithmetic operations, which provides detection of faults "nonoperation" in the functional elements of the protection equipment on the basis of mismatch of output values of functional identical elements of the protection equipment and other diagnostic tools;4) methodology for monitoring and diagnosing the protection equipment, built on the use of functional elements based on arithmetic operations.
