Essay

The dissertation is devoted to investigation of the conceptual space of Ukrainian baroque poetry of the XVI - XVIII centuries. The definitions of "concept" and "conceptual space" for the historical and literary research are formulated. Using the cultural-linguistic, conceptual methods, three-leveled structure concepts "time", "eternity", "heaven", "hell", "svit", "soul", "spirit" and "body" are analyzed. The universal, religious, ontological and individual authors' meanings of concepts are identified. The study was conducted based on the Ukrainian baroque poetry, belonging to different ideological and thematic groups: spiritual, social and political poems, poetry of the personal life and others. It helps to define mental space in which sacral and general, universal and authors' view of the world and man are coexist harmoniously in baroque's style.
