Essay

Object of research - the creation a formal description of knowledge about the relations, which are presented in the form of mathematical relationships between objects in the domain of ontological knowledge bases. Subject of research - methods and models to extend the semantics of relationships between objects by integration of semantic annotations which describe mathematical relations using techniques of ontological engineering. Research methods are based on the on the use of the theory of formal languages and systems, ontological engineering technology, Semantic Web technology. Theoretical and practical results is a common salvation of actual scientific and practical problems aimed to improvement ontological knowledge bases capabilities by integrating models that extend the semantics of the relationships between the objects of ontology to include knowledge about the mathematical dependecies. Scientific novelty: 1) model of the semantic annotation as a special type of knowledge that contains semantic characteristics of the mathematical relationship and description of the means of its implementation in the information space, which allows to create semantic annotations of information objects that implement the computation of the mathematical expressions, and to integrate such annotations into the ontology; 2) model of the integration of new knowledge presented as mathematical expressions in domain ontologies based on the use of semantic annotations of mathematical relationships, which is the link between the target domain ontology and ontology about mathematical knowledge, that allows to extend the semantics of relations in ontology through the integration of formal knowledge, and makes it possible to use these ontologies without affecting their life cycle; 3) improved method to extend semantics in the ontological knowledge bases, which is based on the harmonization method of ontological integration and, unlike analogue, means specification of the semantic annotations of relations between objects in the form as additional constraints, which provides the ability to integrate ontological structures with different or overlapping contexts and enables one to describe objects as concepts of the another ontology. Introduction degree - LTD «IA «Interfax-Ukraine», and at the Department of Artificial Intelligence in Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. Area of application covers organizations related to the development of knowledge-based systems to support decision making and in the educational process for training specialists in the field of intellectual processing.
