Essay

The thesis presents a method for estimation of stress-strain state changes in wall material of a vertical cylindrical steel tank using its surface’s points displacements without determining the forces and loads acting on the tank, using smoothing splines to restore tank’s wall using coordinates of individual points on the surface, which allows to reduce the influence of measurement errors, considering wall 3-dimensional displacement, walls form defects and impact welds. The results of experimental studies and simulation using the software package SolidWorks, that confirms the adequacy of the proposed mathematical model and the developed software, are given. A system for contactless remote scanning of tank’s wall using a laser, which, together with developed software, allows to determine the coordinates of the wall using indirect measurement method, are developed. Methodical implementation, hardware and software to realize the proposed method are developed.
