Essay

There was worked out the method of conducting experiments in order to receive the time dependent of bending deflection of specimen during its one-side saturation with hydrogen. The form-change plate develops in two stages: on the first stage the plate reaches the maximum bend, while on the second stage the plate is straightened to its original condition, or there is a residual steady-state bend. Established that the increase in hydrogen pressure leads to a linear, reversible and strong bending of the plate, which is 3 times larger than the mechanical load. It is shown that the temperature increase at constant pressure of hydrogen leads to the maximum bending of the plate changes by extreme law. Investigated influence of the speed of gaseous hydrogen feed till given pressure on the value of maximum bending of the plate. Established experimental regularities are determined by two fundamental properties of Pd-H system: diffusion coefficient and equilibrium solubility of hydrogen in palladium as well as the external and internal conditions of the diffusion transport of hydrogen.
