Essay

Subject: electromagnetic valves with amplification for liquid-propellant rocket engines (LPRE). Purpose: improvement of electromagnetic valves with amplification as the start-up/shut-off and control elements of LPRE pneumatic-hydraulic system to meet required performance of LPRE installed on the launch vehicle upper stages; Methods: theoretical methods are based on application of equations which describe works processes in electromagnet, gas and liquid spaces and pipelines, experimental methods are based on tests of developed electromagnetic valves integrated into both experimental plants and the engine fulfilled during firing and launch tests; Novelty: key principles of LPRE start-up/shut-off systems improvement on the basis of use of electromagnetic valves with amplification were formulated for the first time, regularity of feed pipelines parameters and propellant components characteristics effect on response time of electromagnetic valves with amplification were established experimentally for the first time, math models and design procedures of LPRE electromagnetic valves were improved, new design concepts which improve considerably electromagnetic valves were justified and implemented in practical terms; Results: improved mass and power, dynamic and operational performances of LPRE; Branch: rocket-building.
