Essay

Thesis is devoted to the study of dependence of the thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of carbon-based bulk materials on temperature and particle size distribution of researched materials for the purpose of numerical modeling of temperature fields in the graphitization furnaces, economy of resources and energy and environmental protection. Methods and experimental facilities for measuring of thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of carbon-based bulk materials with particle size of 15 mm, in the temperature range 400-1300 K and under overpressure of 27 kPa were designed. The estimation error of measurement of thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity shows that the total relative error is no more than 16 % at a confidence level of W=0,997. Results of the temperature dependence of thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of carbon thermal insulating charge based on a mixtures of raw and graphitized coke breeze with different particle size distribution have been obtained. Coefficients of empirical dependences of thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity products for different temperatures and particle sizes were determined by using the results of measurement of thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of researched materials.
