Essay

The algal flora of Polessian Nature Reserve numbers 705 species (775 infraspecies taxa) belonging to 12 divisions. Chlorophyta, Bacillariophyta, Charophyta and Euglenophyta comprise more than 80% of algal species composition. One genus and 16 species were recorded for the first time in Ukraine. A new species (Chrysopyxis polessica D. Kapustin ad int.) was described. 26 morphotypes of chrysophycean stomatocysts were identified, three of them are new for science. 11 new nomenclatural and taxonomic combinations within euglenophytes and one taxonomic status within chrysophytes were proposed.
