Essay

The thesis highlights the theoretical substantiation and practical proof related to the effects of the organic and mineral nutrition of winter wheat plants in the autumn period on their further yielding capacity and grain quality depending on forerunners under the conditions of the Right-bank Forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. It is shown that in this period both the non-balanced nutrition and its absence cannot be compensated in the period of the plant vegetation. The long-tern application of the twofold mineral nutrition within 80 years contributes to the accumulation of heavy metals in the soil exceeding the admissible quantity limits. It is noteworthy that treating winter wheat seeds with insecticides provides for the plant protection against damages caused by cereal aphids as the main carriers of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus. Besides, no residual quantities of pesticides in the winter grain was observed. The author improves the technique of the ecological assessment of the frost- and winter extreme natural conditions (soil baths and polyethylene cylinders).
