The dissertation examined burial text as a combination of content and expression encoding - verbal, mental, actional, objective, temporal and other codes through folklore, ethnological, linguistic, archaeological, sociological discourse. The study used structural-semiotic approach, which would explore the development of human thanatosphere with allocation of the final results variations and the main categories and concepts of ethnic worldview encoded in funeral and memorial ceremonies as culture defining characteristic. The thesis contains the study of structural and content composition of funeral text with fixing the logic of syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations between signs in the ritual (funeral and memorial) cultural complex, the analysis of graves morphology, dynamics and modifications of taphogenesis and thanatological semiosphere of ukrainians is carried out.
