Essay

The dissertation presents the research results of the study of the main elements of terraces of Chyhyryn pine wood and their natural regeneration. The peculiarities of seed production and reproduction of common pine on Prytiasmyn sands are considered and forestry-environmental characteristics during its cultivation on sandy soils are estimated. It is established that secondary deflation is observed on sandy pine forest terraces and psammophytes predominate among natural grasses. Ephemerous plants prevail on fixed sands during spring (40-70 % of cover) and are changed by perennial grasses during vegetation period. It is proved that in the period of individual growth pine trees, grown on sands with deep soil tillage (50-70 cm), have indices 40 % higher than those on the areas with 20-25 cm pre-planting cultivation and the plants establishment comprises 70-95 %. In the period of stem formation and maturing of tree stands, pine plantations on Prytiasmyn sands increase in dry hygrotops (A1, B1) by II-III productivity class, and in fresh ones (A2, B2) - by I-II productivity class.
