Ovezmyradova O. The ecotoxicological monitoring of fruit and berry crops contamination with heavy metals and radionuclides in the Central Polissya

The object of research – plantations of fruit and baccate crops (strawberry, currant, apple) of Zhytomyr suburban zone adjacent to Kyiv-Chop highway, the Botanical Gardens of ZhNAEU (Zhytomyr), the zone of unconditional (obligatory) resettlement of Narodychi district. The aim of research: the investigation into the ecological state of fruit and baccate crop plantations, the substantiation of their sampling expediency under the conditions of highway zones and radiocontaminated territories of Zhytomyr region. The methods of research: conventional – analysis, comparison, synthesis; special – expeditionary, laboratory, computational and statistical.The research novelty: under the conditions of Zhytomyr region the author is the first to make an integrated ecotoxicological assessment of the state of fruit and baccate plantations adjacent to Kyiv-Chop highway. The peculiarities of heavy metal accumulation in the vegetative organs of crops, fruits and their components. The levels of heavy metal accumulation in the organs of apple-tree plantation on seed and clone seedlings are determined. The period of harvesting apple-tree fruits during which the decrease in the level of heavy metal content in the produce is observed, is specified. The indices of soil contamination density under the plantations with cesium and strontium in the zone of unconditional (obligatory) resettlement are specified, thus making it possible to obtain eco-safe fruit and baccate produce.
