The thesis is devoted to the dissemination of theoretical and methodological principles of assessment of urbanization on the basis of regional transformations of space, which involves the assessment of the spatial structure of the level of regional space, determine the nature of the regional space, the functional areas. Specifies the interpretation of the essence of "urbanization" in the context of theories of spatial development. This approach is the result of a project to improve the spatial structure of the region, focused on ensuring sustainable socio-economic development.
