Solomacha N. Introduction of PINUS L. species in the Left-bank Steppe of Ukraine and availability of their use in culture

Object - introduction of species of genus PINUS, Aim - to determine the perspectives of use of introduced species of genus PINUS in conditions of the Left-bank Steppe of Ukraine; Methods - generally accepted forestry & taxation methods, biometric, morphological, anatomical, methods of seed growing, mathematical-statistical; Novelty - for the first time for conditions of the Left-bank Steppe of Ukraine the peculiarities of growth of Pinus nigra var. pallasiana are studied in provenance tests; efficiency of natural regeneration of Pinus nigra var. pallasiana was proved for conditions of dry and very dry sougrud; level of variability of species of genus PINUS by needle length and number of pitch ducts was evaluated; perspectives of use for P. nigra J.F. Arnold, P. ponderosa Dougl., P. rigida Mill., P. thunbergiі Parl. in reclaimed stands are determined; obtained further development -investigation of sowing quality of seeds; growth, level of winter hardiness and drought resistance of seed and vegetative progeny of introduced species of genus PINUS, deepened and supplemented information on the perspectives of introduction of rare species of genus PINUS in the stands of the Left-bank Steppe.
