Essay

Object of research - longitudinally compressed elastic isotropic circular cylindrical shell , under local quasi-static effects, and finite element method software ANSYS. The aim of the thesis - to identify and define main characteristics of deformation and buckling of longitudinally compressed elastic isotropic circular cylindrical shells undergoing transverse quasi-static local perturbations for 5 different types of the main longitudinal load application scheme . Assess the applicability of ANSYS for numerical simulation of deformation and buckling of shells with non-uniform strain stress state (SSS) by comparison with a physical experiment .Research methods - numerical experiment in ANSYS. Theoretical and practical results : expantion of the view on the mechanism of buckling of longitudinally compressed cylindrical shell under local transverse quasi-static perturbation. Elaboration of finite element solution methods application to problems of deformation and buckling of shells with highly non-uniform SSS. Scientific novelty - new qualitative and quantitative data of numerical experiments concerning the behavior of shells in the presence of quasi-static local perturbations , as well as assessment of the applicability of ANSYS for numerical simulation of the shells behavior with non-uniform SSS. The degree of implementation: results are currently in use at lecturing to senior students of Pridneprovskaya State Academy Civil Engineering and Architecture. Application: tanks, chemical industry machines, rocket and aviation technology.
