Essay

The Thesis theoretically summarizes information about the biological features of phytophagous mites which are the agricultural pests and about biological and chemical methods of vineyard ptotection against phytophages, particularly Schizote-tranychus pruni Oud. Experimental data about the mite fauna in the current grape agrocenoses in the Crimea and in the southern regions of Ukraine, including the Phytoseiidae complex, was obtained. The ecological structure of the acarocomplexes of grapevines, including the trophic interrelations and the species dominance structure, as well as the ecological characteristics of phytophagous mites and its natural predators under ecological factors were studied based on the grape agrocenosises of the Crimea. The changes in the structure of the acarocomplexes after a long-term absence of acaricides in the vineyard protection system were demonstrated. The role of the species of predatory mites and insects in regulating the size of the population of phytophagous mites was studied in the commercial vineyard of the Southern coast of the Crimea. The influence of some pesticides recommended for limiting of Schizotetranychus pruni Oud. on non-target mite species (Phytoseiidae, Pronematidae) under field conditions was demonstrated. The new ecological program of phytophagous mites number limit with nature regulating processes was developed.
