Kovalchuk S. The activity of the party of the Constitutional Democrats on the eve of and in period of the First Russian Revolution (1903 – the 3rd of June, 1907)

The dissertation is a complex research of the history of Russian liberal Constitutional Democratic Party, transformation of "The Liberate Union" to the party and general and special aspects of organization, formation and evolution of its political program. The works of the scientists regarding the research of the multi-party system and the appearance of the parliamentarism in Russia at the beginning of the XX century on the example of the activity of Cadets are analyzed and rethought. It is proved that the party formatted on the ground of illegal liberal organization "The Liberate Union". The reasons of changes in electoral field of party during the period of the 1st and the 2nd State Duma are defined and formulated. The revelation of the poorly explored aspects of legislative activity of Cadets in the area of economics, education and culture moves further. For the first time the attention is focused on the formation and activity of the branches of the party in such leading cities of Kherson Province of Russian Empire as Odessa, Kherson, Mykolaiv. On the basis of the archival sources, party and regional press the courses of further research of the constitutional democrats party are determined.
