Essay

Object: metastatic bone lesions in patients with malignant tumors. Aim: improvement of quality of life of patients with solid malignant tumors and metastatic bone lesions by creation of differential approach for complex examination end treatment of such patients. Methods: clinical, laboratory, roentgenologic, statistical. For the first time the diagnostic schemes and approaches for examination of patients with malignant tumors and suspicion about metastatic bone lesions were developed. First tactical schemes were created and surgical methods were enhanced for treatment of patients with pathologic fractures at metastatic bone lesions. First the sensibility of tumor cells to antineoplastic drugs at patients with bone metastasis. First the indications for extensive and паліативного surgery at patients with metastatic bone lesions were specified. First orthopedic status of patients with metastatic bone lesions was evaluated. Orthopedic and oncologic criteria before and after surgical treatment were took into acount. The author has developed schemes and approaches to diagnostic scanning patients with malignant tumors with suspected metastatic bone lesions and introduced them into clinical practice. That allowed to specify primary source of the tumor process and extent of metastatic bone lesions. Methods of complex treatment of patients with metastatic bone lesions were developed and introduced into clinical practice, thereby improving the quality of life of patients. Using the developed methods of surgical treatment of patients with bone metastases (ablative surgery) will make it possible to reduce the number of relapses of metastatic tumors and improve functional and oncological outcomes. Results of the study are introduced into clinical practice of the Kyiv city hospital ambulance, frontier central hospital of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Kyiv City Clinical Cancer Center, Kiev City Clinical Hospital № 9 Kiev Regional Administration in the educational process of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Bogomolets National Medical University of Ministry of health of Ukraine.
