The thesis is dedicated to improving the durability and longevity of extruder screws and cylinders in the processing of coarse grains with the addition of mineral saponite through proper choice of materials and methods of strengthen their surface. Theoretical-Experimental method of calculating the wear resistance and durability of structural elements with gradient coatings and metastable phases in the structure of the material in abrasive wear. There were applied sectional constructions of screw and cylinder with prismatic inserts on their inner surface.
