The dissertation develops theoretical and methodical foundations and practical recommendations for the improvement of sustainable regional development with consideration of modern requirements; this work shows the contents and the nature of sustainable development, gives a deeper meaning to the conceptual apparatus within the theory of sustainable development, justifies methodical approach to integrated assessment of regional sustainable development; also this work rates the particularities and finds the trends of sustainable regional development; the work proves the necessity of introducing a mechanism to ensure and support sustainable regional development; the algorithm of sustainable regional management and the forecast of regional development based on the major components of sustainability in the medium term are designed.
