Essay

We identified and summarized the patterns of breed-specific polymorphism of Ukrainian meat and Welsh breeds pigs in regards to the complex cyto- and molecular-genetic markers that are associated with reproductive abilities of sows.Using PCR - RFLP we studied inter-breed features of four genes polymorphism, associated with reproductive function of sows of Welsh and Ukrainian meat breeds: follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR), co-activator of nuclear steroid hormone receptors (NCOA1) , estrogen receptor1 (ESR1), prolactin receptor (PRLR). We observed the high rates of reproductive function in sows with alleles A1 gene NCOA1, B gene ESR1, C gene FSHR, A gene PRLR in the genotype. Cytogenetic analysis of peripheral blood lymphocytes of pigs showed that the overall cell performance of genetic disorders in sows has its own characteristics. Based on the identified breed-specific cytogenetic and molecular-genetic characteristics of sows we suggested the technique of creating profiles of individual marker genetic pool of pigs.
