Essay

The thesis highlights the results of the investigations into the skeletopy, macro-and microstructure of the spinal cord and its parts and spinal cord nodes in a mature nondescript domestic dog, its body weight amounting to 20-30 kg. The correlation of the spinal cord length and the length of the spine column in the domestic dog equals 0,76:1. The caudal interface of the spinal cord lies on the level of VI-VII lumbar vertebrae. The largest area of the spinal cord cross section can be found in the cervical and lumbar thickenings, the smallest - in the sacral part. The cervical spinal cord nodes of a domestic dog are oval-shaped, pectoral nodes - ovoid-shaped, and lumbar and sacral ones are spindle-shaped. The largest area of longitudinal section is characteristic sacral spinal cord nodes, the smallest - of pectoral nodes. It has been established that the population of nerve cells of spinal cord parts and spinal cord nodes its heterogeneous. Its neurons differ in perykaryon and nucleus volumes, nucleocytoplasmic ratio, chromatophilic substance content and neuroglial supply. It has been revealed that the highest intensity of histochemical reactions related to determining total protein and nucleic acids is observed in the neuron thickenings of the spinal cord and the corresponding spinal cord nodes.
