Essay

Several biochemical parameters of hepatocytes, including rates of free radical oxidation of proteins and lipids in, activity of antioxidant enzymes and cytokine production, were investigated. Moreover, the crosstalk between described parameters and different stages of hepatocyte metabolism was studied under physiological conditions as well as using the rat model of long-term gastric hypochlorhydria. It was proposed that discovered cytomorphological changes in rat liver under long-term gastric hypoacidity were likely caused by the progression of dysbacteriosis and endogenous intoxication. Upon administration of the Multiprobiotic "Symbiter®", which was used for intestinal bacteria recovery, the importance of hepatocyte growth factor and transforming growth factor beta for liver regeneration under long-term gastric hypoacidity was clearly demonstrated. The obtained results demonstrate severe metabolic changes in hepatocytes under pathological conditions and prove the beneficial effect of Multiprobiotic "Symbiter®" administration for treatment of secondary liver pathologies under long-term hypoacidity conditions.
