The results of complex investigation and surgical treatment of 115 patients with arteriovenous malformations (AVM) of brain hemispheres of small and medium size in a stage of expressed clinical manifestations were analyzed. In 115 patients 145 operations were performed. Objective signs of AVM rupture were revealed in 65 (59.13%) cases, epileptic type of clinical manifestations - in 36 (31.3%), slowed-down type - in 11 (9.57%). Most often (in 50 (73.6%) observations) due to AVM rupture parenchymatous and parenchymatous-ventricular hemorrhages occurred. For the first time features of small and medium size AVM of brain hemispheres localization and haemodynamics with different types of clinical manifestation were defined. Treatment results of small and medium size AVM of brain hemispheres were satisfactory in 105 (91.3%) cases, unsatisfactory - in 8 (7%), 2 (1.7%) patients died.
