Essay

The object of study: the processes of information at the regional level. The aim of study: to develop the theoretical and methodological foundations of improving the processes of information at the regional level and the formation and use of information resources as a determinant of economic development in the region. Methods of study: system and process; comparative-historical and historical-logical, institutional, economics and mathematics; of abstraction; economic and mathematical modeling; forecasting and performance-based planning. The practical significance of results lays in fact that the results of study were taken into consideration by the Main Scientific Expert Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Department of Economics of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration Cherkasy State Technological University; the grounded in the present thesis work conclusions, recommendations and conceptual frameworks are now used in educational process. Scientific novelty of results lies in fact that it was the first time when the methodical bases of assessment of regional development on the basis of information on indicators of information activity and information capacity. Were implemented: the approaches to determining the level of informatization development in the regions of Ukraine and scientific principles of providing information for the region. Further developments have got: the approaches to research and study the possibilities of using and adapting foreign experience of informatization processes to modern conditions of spatial economic development; determine the nature and content of basic categorical concepts; study areas of regional information.
