Essay

The object: activity of the antioxidant and immune systems of cows of the last month of gestation, during the first days after calving and that of their newborn calves under the effect of vitamins А, Dз, Е, lysine, methionine, coupled with zink acetate or sodium selenite as liposomal emulsion. The aim: to look into the effects of parenteral administration to cows of the last month of gestation of vitamins А, Dз, Е, lysine, methionine, coupled with zink acetate or sodium selenite as liposomal emulsion onto the activity of the antioxidant and immune systems of cows and their calves; as well as to develop a new complex preparation for increasing viability of calves on the basis of acquired data. Methods: clinical, biochemical, zootechnic, statistical. Novelty: It is the first complex comparative study of the indicators that characterize the condition of the antioxidant and immune systems of cows of the last month of gestation, during the first days after calving and that of their newborn calves under the effect of vitamins А, Dз, Е, lysine, methionine, coupled with zink acetate or sodium selenite as liposomal emulsion. Results:it was discovered that the activity of cell and humoral factor of resistibility of cows during the last month of gestation decreases, which attests to the physiological immune system suppression of their organism. By injecting the tested immune tropic agents during the last month of springing we stimulated the gluthatione system of antioxidant protection, number and functional activity of T- and B-cell immune system components, bactericide and lyzozyme activity of blood serum, and phagocyte activity of blood neutrophilic leucocytes, on the other hand it inhibits the intensity of lipid peroxidation processes in the bodies of cows and their newly born calves. Application of the above indicated factors as a liposomal emulsion results in the increase in the amount of fat, protein, lactose, vitamins A and E, calcium, phosphor, and zinc, decrease in the number of somatic cells in the cows' colostral milk, as well as contributes to the increase of weight, average daily gain and livability of calves.
