Vlasenko N. Bioecological characteristics of the Poltava green belt forests (biodiversity, restoration, protection).

The object is Poltava-City green belt forests. The aim is the complex study of Poltava-City green belt forests and the main directions of their most effective use, protection and restoration. The methods are complex eco-biogeocenological, physico-chemical, phytocenotical, statistical. The typological characteristics of forest biogeocenosis of Poltava-City green belt have been worked up using O.L. Belgard typology. It was defined that natural forests are represented by bottomland forests with long-term flooding, bottomland forests with short-term flooding, noninundated with arena and ravine forests. There have been shown the types of forest growth conditions for certain types of forests. Physical and chemical indexes of their edaphotop were introduced. Ecological and biological characteristics of natural and artificial forests are characterized. The peculiarities of protected forest flora and the ways of their preservation have been found out. It was shown that forest restoration should be on the forest typological base properly to potential forest growth conditions (acc. O.L. Belgard). The high priority problems of protection and efficient use of Poltava-City green belt forests have been presented. Application spheres are monitoring, conservation, training courses.
