Theoretical and practical results contribute to the development of such linguistic areas as terminology, word formation, the study of neologisms, lexical semantics and cognitive linguistics. A semantic classification of the terminological units the English Terminological System of Management made on cognitive principles has significance for the theory of lexicography. Scientific novelty is that the thesis for the first time suggests a comprehensive analysis of structural, semantic and cognitive properties of the English Terminological System of Management. The study distinguishes the own sub-systems of management, and the sub-systems of management that overlap with other terminological systems. The units of these sub-systems are analyzed in terms of their derivational models which exhibit various derivational processes. The study for the first time proposes a semantic classification of terms grounded on the network model of MANAGEMENT conceptual domain constituted by a number of parcels linked by basic propositional schemas. Scope: the material can be used in the professional practice of teaching English and lexicographical practice to compile of terminological dictionaries.
