Essay

Object: changes in structural and functional state of bone tissue and the immune system of rats under different experimental forms of osteoporosis. Aim: to investigate disturbances of mineral metabolism, structural and functional state of bone tissues of rats with vitamin D3 deficiency or hypokinesia and to establish the effectiveness of combined action of vitamin D3 and methylene bisphosphonate on mineral metabolism in bone and functional state of the immune system of osteoporotic rats. Methods: flow cytometry, confocal laser scanning microscopy, spectrophotometry, osteometric, histological. The data demonstrate high efficiency of cholecalciferol in combination with methylenbisphosphonate in normalization of the structural and functional state of bone tissue and immunity in osteoporosis, suggesting the perspectives of these substances in the treatment of bone pathologies.
