Essay

The thesis deals with substantiation of the approach to conservation of Gentiana lutea L., G. punctata L. and G. acaulis L. species in the Ukrainian Carpathians on the basis of their complex ecological and biotechnological research. There was defined ecological-geographic affinity of alpine rare G. lutea, G. punctata and G. acaulis species on three mountain chains of the Ukrainian Carpathians. On the basis of the population parameters analysis (area, density, age and spatial vitality structure, ability to renewal and self-maintenance, "delta-omega" classification) there was assessed the status and determined the strategies of these species populations, that allowed to establish the utility of their renewal. There was held the research of the initial stages of G. lutea, G. punctata and G. acaulis ontogenesis in vitro and found its acceleration in comparison with ontogenesis of these species plants in nature. There were chosen conditions for rooting G. lutea plants obtained through microclonal propagation in vitro, and developed the ways for the rooted plants adaptation to ex vitro conditions and their repatriation in situ.
