Essay

The thesis focuses on the patterns of social processes in the Bosporus VI-II centuries BC. The study examines the main stages of the Bosporus, characterizes the factors that caused certain changes in social development during pre-Roman period. The funeral ritualism of various Bosporus regional centers and the inventory structure using methods of statistical analysis within certain chronological stages were complexly analyzed. Based on a systematic analysis of materials from Bosporus necropolises, some peculiarities and variations in the use of certain categories of funeral equipment were determined. The process of ethno-cultural funeral ritualism traditions in the absence of strict religious objects regulations that accompanied the deceased person was established. The research points out to the examined dynamics of changes in financial status of policies' citizens for VI-II centuries BC. It is shown that the Bosporus policies throughout the said period were divided in three property segments, the ratio of which was not constant for individual centers within certain chronological stages. It was determined that each center of the Bosporus has independent development. Comparison of Bosporus property potential state with other Pontic centers suggests that, in contrast to Olbia it was lower, and in comparison to Apollonius was at a higher level.
