Essay

The dissertation is devoted to increasing the fuel efficiency of gas turbine unites (GTU) of a simple cycle by using the heat of exhaust gases in the thermotransformers to cool the intake air. A mathematical model of cooling processes of the air at the inlet of GTU with evaporation of low boiling working fluids (LBWF) in the air cooler tubes has been developed that takes into account the unequal heat load distribution along the air stream. A fuel saving due to cooling of the air at the inlet of GTU in regions of Libya where electricity production in turbogenerators concentrated has been evaluated.
