Essay

This thesis offers new solution of a scientific problem which consists in formation of combined centrifugally-centripetal process of energy transfer. Such engineering solution provides a change in the stage's flow setting and adding to its structure an additional work tool - a centripetal bladed grid which gives additional quantity of energy to the flow while affecting it. Flow patterns inside the setting of a combined stage are gained on adequate mathematical models, these patterns ensure qualitative and quantitative assessment of velocity distributions and pressures in an examined stage. This also allowed me to determine geometrical parameters which most essentially influence energy parameters of a stage. Expedient ratio of main geometrical parameters of a centripetal stage was determined by an experimental approach. For example, modernizing the serial intermediate stage of CMP (centripetal multistage pump) pump has given the chance to increase its head for 30 % in comparison with initial, under condition of interchangeability of the base and combined stages. Procedure of designing a centripetal part of combined stage is stated and the priority directions of further examinations of its working process are determined.
