Essay

Object of study - herbaceous vegetation of the beech plant communities in the Ukrainian Roztochya. Purpose - to identify the bioecological peculiarities of the vegetation in beech stands on the eastern limit of the range and to determine its impact on regeneration processes of the beech forests in Ukrainian Roztochchya. Research methods: forest-taxation method, geobotanical method, method of comparative ecology, physiological method and methods of mathematical statistic. Scientific novelty. Based on the integrated forestry, environmental, morphobiometrical, physiological-biochemical and phytocoenotic studies, first time it was made an estimation of distribution of the herbaceous species under the canopy of the beech stands in Ukrainian Roztochya and their correlation with quantitative indicators and morphobiometrical statistic of the beech seedlings; the particular microclimate formation in the beech stands at the vegetation layer and its effect on the distribution of the vegetation at the beech stands in Ukrainian Roztochchya; improvement of the micro-climatic conditions of the vegetation, which is activating the growth rate and viability of the beech seedlings; it was made the comparative analysis of water regime of the most common for the beech stands herbaceous species and regeneration of the beech. Undergrowth of the beech forests comparing to the grass species is characterized by the lowest value of the water deficit, although the intensity of the transpiration, which takes an intermediate position. The practical significance. The obtained results are making it possible to intensify the processes of natural regeneration of the beech forests and optimize forestry measures to stimulate seed germination of the beech, maintaining its stairs, self-seeding and regeneration. Due to the simplicity growth conditions of the of the grass species, some of them are high decorative, they can be successfully used for the landscape gardening and cultivation in groups at the penumbra and shadow, as well as at the open space.
